Quinlan Family Award

The Quinlan Family Award was established in memory of Marion Quinlan, NFA English teacher from 1950-73. It is awarded to a graduating Norwich Free Academy senior who has demonstrated distinction in English and provides assistance to that worthy student in pursuing higher education upon graduation.
The selection criteria are:
  • Distinguished academic accomplishment in English classes in all four years of high school
  • Academic and personal integrity
  • Highly motivated
  • Financial need (as indicated by the Student Aid Index from the FAFSA)

The student who is selected to receive this award must use the funds to further his/her education by attending a four-year college or university. The funds will be distributed to the college/university in two equal payments during the freshman year following graduation from NFA, half of the award will be sent upon receipt of the tuition bill, and the other half of the award will be sent upon receipt of an official transcript for the first semester of the freshman year.
