Charlotte Fuller Eastman Award

The Charlotte Fuller Eastman Award provides financial assistance to promising students who have attended art classes at Norwich Free Academy, and are beginning or furthering their art education in college.

In order to be eligible, students must complete an application and students must submit examples of their work by following the steps outlined in the Application Requirements below.

Recipients are expected to provide proof of full-time registration in a professional art school or university in October 2024. This can be sent to the NFA Foundation at foundation@nfaschool.org. Funds will be distributed in November 2024.

Additionally, the recipient will be invited to exhibit their work on campus during the school year. Concrete dates will be identified in consultation between the Visual and Performing Art Department Head and recipient.

Applications for 2024 closed April 14.

Application Requirements

The following materials are required.

Completed application form with the following items uploaded to the form:

1). A personal essay that discusses your major area of interest, ultimate artistic goal, degree of financial need and any other information that would prove helpful
2). Copy of your unofficial transcript or most recent grade report
3). Letter of recommendation from a recent or current instructor

All applicants must electronically submit 10 examples of their work as digital images using the following guidelines:

Save all files in JPEG (*.JPG, *.JPEG) format
Label all files: Title of work - year created - medium (i.e., Spiral Staircase - 2020 - Oil Painting)
If you would like files viewed in a specific order, please add a number before the title (i.e., 1 - Spiral Staircase - 2020 - Oil Painting)
All files must be submitted electronically in the space noted on the application or they may be submitted using Google Drive or Dropbox. Both allow you to create accounts at www.dropbox.com or www.google.com/drive
- Once an account is created, you must create a folder titled: Your name - 2024 Eastman App (i.e., Mary Smith - 2024 Eastman App)
- All work must then be uploaded to your folders
- Folders must remain active through April 30
- Once all files are uploaded, share your folders with the NFA Visual & Performing Arts Department lefrancoiss@nfaschool.org.
