Scholarships

On July 17, 1857, a gift from J. Newton Perkins established the first award at Norwich Free Academy, marking the beginning of the long tradition of annual recognition of the achievements of our students.

Today, the NFA Foundation, Inc. scholarship program has grown to more than 500 endowed and annual awards. Students are recognized for academic, artistic, and athletic excellence, as well as citizenship, character, sportsmanship, and integrity. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the NFA Foundation has awarded over $1.4 million to NFA students over the past three years alone.

Only Norwich Free Academy students are eligible for NFA Foundation scholarships. 

To be considered for NFA Foundation scholarships, students must complete a General Scholarship Application. Application access is limited to students through their NFA gmail account. 

The application period for 2026 closed Sunday, April 12, at 11:59 p.m.
