The administration at NFA, along with health officials worldwide, are actively monitoring the local and global health status of COVID-19. NFA has taken proactive steps to minimize health and safety risks to students, faculty, staff and the larger community. Currently, campus is closed until March 31. NFA is offering “grab and go” meals at no charge to all students to help fill the nutrition gap while school is closed. The shutdown serves to remind us how schools, like NFA, are a vital piece of society, providing so much more than an education.
We encourage you to stay informed as the situation is continually changing. We’ve included more information and resources regarding COVID-19 at the bottom of this email.
Alumni events, of course, are significantly affected. On-campus alumni events are being canceled or postponed, as well as some off-campus reunion events. Our Alumni Relations Director, Linda Ververis, is working closely with reunion committees to ensure attendees have up-to-date and accurate information regarding their events. We will keep you informed about any changes to Commencement, scheduled for June 11, and the Reunion Weekend. We are unable to accept guests or visitors at Alumni House and cannot assist with in-person transcript requests at this time.
While we are not able to bring our community together physically right now, I hope you see this as a time to connect and support each other. We encourage you to reach out to each other by email, social media, and through our platform at NFA Connect.
These are difficult times for us all. Please take care of yourself and others. While we cannot anticipate all of the impacts of this virus, we do know the resiliency of the Academy and those who call NFA their alma mater. As always, we thank you for your continued support of Norwich Free Academy.
