NFA Students Are Getting a Head Start in Healthcare Careers
Submitted by Linda Farhina, Director, Anne Macaione Mitchell '44 College & Career Center
At some point, every student is asked: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" It’s a challenging question—whether you're 14 or 44.
At NFA, we take a different approach. Instead of asking students to define their entire future in one answer, we ask: "What's Next For Me?"
This mindset drives our post-high school planning, offering students a series of experiences to explore, test, and take action toward their future.
For students interested in healthcare, our newly expanded Healthcare Pathways program—made possible through partnerships with Hartford Healthcare and ReadyCT—provides opportunities to explore career options, gain hands-on experience, and even earn industry-recognized credentials.
Exploring: Students can start their journey by attending events like our Career Expo, where they get a broad view of the healthcare industry, or they can dive deeper into specific roles through events like our recent Pharmacy Technician Info Session, where HHC pharmacists shared insights into pharmaceutical career paths.
